Thank you to our 2014 supporters! With your help this year, we were able to make an impact in the lives of thousands of needy eaters and hundreds of local farmers. You are truly the reason that this work is possible!
In 2014, Donation Stations collected 55,000 pounds of food and spent $30,000 in new money at Farmers Markets in 8 NC counties. POP Market sold 85,000 pounds of local food, spending over $100,000 with local farmers. This means $130,000 in new money from previously inaccessible markets was spent with local farmers. Local hunger was alleviated by connecting over 20,000 people through local hunger relief agencies with over 140,000 pounds of fresh healthy food. And over 200 volunteers throughout the state helped to build these local food systems with us.
