Our mission is to make fresh, local food available to everyone in our community and to ensure that the farmers growing it make a healthy living.

Last year we donated produce to partner agencies serving 38,579 low-income North Carolinians.

We also spent $667,445 with North Carolina farmers and helped tens of thousands of kids access locally grown food.

Farmer Foodshare is changing the food system by creating markets for local farmers and delivering fresh, healthy food to hungry people in need. Find out how you get involved today.

Stories of Impact

There are two sides to a healthy food system.

Small and mid-scale farmers, along with disadvantaged women and farmers of color are having an increasingly difficult time making a living despite their importance in healthy communities.

There is a paradox between obesity and hunger in our country. We are experiencing an epidemic of diet and weight related illnesses, while too many in or communities simply don't have enough to eat.

Donation stations

Volunteers use cash donations to purchase fresh produce at farmers markets. The purchased and donated food is given to local agencies.
