WHO WE ARE

Farmer Foodshare is a Triangle-based, nonprofit food hub whose mission is to increase access to fresh, local food for all and to support the viability of marginalized NC farmers to create an equitable food system.

WHAT WE DO

We support local farmers. We purchase fresh, nutritious, high-quality produce from North Carolina farmers, prioritizing small and historically marginalized growers. We step in

sell and donate fresh produce to partner organizations that distribute food directly to Triangle-area communities experiencing food insecurity. Each month, our program staff and volunteers pack thousands of food boxes which we deliver to our community partners. All our produce is sourced from growers across North Carolina, which gives local farmers access to new revenue opportunities. We supply local restaurants, grocers, and dining programs with locally grown fruits and vegetables year-round, and all income from our wholesale program is reinvested into our food access initiatives.

STRATEGIC PLAN 2024-2028

In 2023, our board and staff set out to identify goals and objectives for the coming years. After many months of facilitated planning meetings, gaining feedback from our stakeholders, and compiling the results, it’s finally here: our 2024-2028 Strategic Plan.

We will use this plan as a foundational roadmap and living document to guide our work for 5 whole years, updating it as needed, to achieve the greatest possible impacts on behalf of our stakeholders. We are excited to get to work and build on the progress we’ve made so far with the support of our dedicated community. We hope you’ll be inspired by the big dreams we have too.

Please feel free to reach out anytime with questions or to get involved with our work. Thank you for supporting fresh, local food for ALL.
