We believe everyone living in North Carolina should have access to the fresh, delicious food grown here. That’s why we are committed to making fresh, local food accessible for all, regardless of income.
We partner with more than 30 food distribution partners – fellow food hubs, food pantries, mutual aid groups, and other nonprofit organizations – to bring high-quality, nutritious, locally grown food directly to folks who need it most.
Our produce comes from a network of 70+ farmers all across NC. Our team of distribution associates picks up truckloads of seasonal crops, which we collect at our food hub in Durham. Our volunteers and food hub staff pack food boxes and prepare bulk produce orders, which get delivered to distribution partners throughout the Triangle.
The fruits and vegetables we source are freshly harvested and high-quality – not leftovers. Our neighbors receive the same delicious, nutrient-rich food we sell to our customers.
In 2024, we contributed 1.36 million pounds of local food to fight food insecurity.
“Farmer Foodshare has been and is instrumental in supporting our organization in feeding over 3,000 people every week.”
-Miguel Rubiera, Emanuel Food Pantry
The organizations we work with serve all demographics of people, and our partnership allows us to feed everyone – kids in school, low-income families, individuals living with chronic illness, unhoused residents, crisis-impacted communities, and many others. Fresh, local food for all.
We both donate and sell our fresh produce to distribution partners depending on available funds. As collaborators, we work together to support each other and achieve the greatest possible impacts for our community.
Working together carries our mission further, and we love connecting with new organizations to fill more plates with fresh, healthy food.
