Melissa joined Farmer Foodshare’s board of directors in 2022.

She is a senior program manager at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, focusing on community and diversity engagement. Melissa works closely with nonprofits, advocating for funding and other resources to support these organizations and their missions, especially in the areas of food security, behavioral health and rural health.

A native North Carolinian, Melissa is passionate about improving access to fresh, local food across the state, while supporting small and mid-size farmers. She currently lives in Durham.
